The main component of the retractable gate and fence system is a gate leaf that is retracted into the ground, using a built-in drive. The leaf becomes invisible when it is open. Thanks to the vertical movement of the leaves, FANCY FENCE system retractable gates and fences are the only type available on the market that can be installed on sloping driveways without having to level the terrain around them. When installed in areas with a slope perpendicular to the gate leaf, it is necessary to place channel drainage along the length of the gate, on the higher side, to prevent any water runoff from flooding the concrete vault.
FANCY FENCE system retractable gates and fence are resistant to the ingress of sand or dust. This is because all mechanisms exposed to contamination are hidden in a concrete vault, under covers. In areas particularly prone to large quantities of sand, it is possible to use additional seals to close the openings around the pickets.
FANCY FENCE system retractable gates are equipped with electro sensitive protection equipment mounted on both sides of the gate to protect people, animals and vehicles from injury or damage. When the safety circuit is triggered it stops gate operation. Additional protection is provided by overload equipment fitted as standard in the electric drives of our gates. It is worth noting that, unlike other types of gates available on the market, FANCY FENCE gates, even if all other safety systems fail, still do not pose the same risk to human life, animals or property as other types of gates. Emergency manual opening or closing of the gate is enabled with the use of a special handle, through the inspection hatch located in the middle cover. The fact that the gate leaf is connected to a counterweight system of the same mass allows it to be lowered or raised easily, even by children.
The FANCY FENCE system pedestrian access gate does not have standard hinges, it rotates around one of the pickets. This is possible due to the use of a horizontal beam with pickets that are welded to the top of it. The beam is placed below the level of the pavement, which makes it possible to obtain the effect of an “invisible pedestrian access gate”, integrated with the rest of the fence, rendering it virtually unnoticeable. Naturally, customers who want their pedestrian access gate to stand out from the rest of the fence have a wide range of options to do this by using different materials, designs or colours.
To achieve the desired effect, FANCY FENCE system retractable entrance gates are installed by specialized and thoroughly trained teams. FANCY FENCE system retractable gates and fences have been tested in climate chambers simulating extreme ambient conditions (from -30°C to +50°C).
The reinforced concrete vault is fully waterproof, and so, the only place where it is possible for water to enter the vault is through the holes in the covers that the pickets move through. In the event that water starts to fill the vault, a dedicated pump has been placed at the bottom of the vault, to automatically pump out the water.
First of all, it should be emphasized that water is not a big deal for FANCY FENCE system retractable gates and fences. All components are designed for outdoor installation, including in harsh weather conditions.
